This past weekend was one of those perfectly unplanned weekends. We didn’t do anything extra special. We didn’t dress up. We didn’t spend a lot of money. We didn’t do much of anything. It was a great way to welcome Fall!
There was a crispy coolness in the air. Football was streaming constantly on the television. It was Emma’s 8th birthday last weekend, but we didn’t celebrate it because I was feeling so crappy. So on Sunday we decided to take our little pup out for a day of fun.
First we stopped at her favorite dog bakery to pick up some little sweets and a new collar.
Then it was off to breakfast at our local greasy spoon where we ate veggie omelettes. We sat outside so Em could sit on my lap and greet everyone as they entered.
We made a quick stop at the Farmer’s Market, and then we took Em to her favorite neighborhood to explore and walk around. We found a super pretty tree with beautiful yellow leaves, and had ourselves a little photo shoot.
In November 2003, L and I brought Emma home when she was just a couple months old. We had only been dating for three months at the time. This little girl has grown up with us, and we love her so, so much.

That's Awesome! Clydas was a fall pup too. He came home in October of 2004 – feels like a million years away now. His eyesight is pretty darn good, but he does have trouble in really low lighting with depth.

She is ADORABLE! Ahh! I want a puppy now. 🙂 So glad you had a great weekend! We welcomed fall but staying in summer. It's so unbelievably hot still! I'll take it though seeing as how we never actually had a summer and I wouldnt be surprised if this winter sucks. Haha. Happy Fall!

@Brandi: Thank you so much! It was a Christmas gift from L a couple of years back. I blogged about it here: https://thelessthandomesticgoddess.com/2009/12/our-merry-christmas.html
I really love the story behind its creator. 🙂
