I knew that I wanted to walk down the aisle to Canon in D. Zero points for creativity, but I just knew that’s what I wanted. In my search for the perfect version, I came across George Winston’s Variations on Canon. George Winston‘s music holds a lot of meaning to me. The string quartet agreed to play it; and even though it sounded different than the piano, it was absolutely amazing!
Listen to the George Winston version to capture how it felt to really be there. (If/when you have the time, I suggest listening to the whole track. It’s so beautiful!)
My mother-in-law escorted by her nephew, Jamison. Her hanbok (traditional Korean dress) looked fabulous.
Close friend from graduate school and bridesmaid, Megan. She traveled all the way from Ithaca, NY for this.
Best friend from college and MOH, Nora. She traveled from Buffalo, NY to be with us. My tiny bridal party of two looked exactly how I envisioned them: classic and effortless.
Ring boy, Joaquin and Flower girl, Lexi. They are best friends, and the cutest little kids ever.
Flower girls and twins, Zoe and Mia. My cousin’s daughters were the perfect flower girls. Everyone loved them!
Then it was time. My parents and I waited behind closed doors. Standing there, I felt an unexpected sense of calm. As the doors opened, the room melted away. All I could hear was the string quartet. All I could see were flashing lights from cameras going off. I know for sure that two things went through my mind (1) someone in the front row was blocking my view of Mr. G. Move it, please! and (2) this will never happen to me again.
I soaked up every moment of that walk. I will never, ever forget it.
And Dad waited patiently until his only daughter left his side, walked forward, and stood beside the man she was about to marry.
That walk was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Everything came together. I am so glad that I remember how good it felt.
As a bride, this is your time. Everyone’s eyes are lovingly on you. As you make your way down the aisle, you literally glow. Your radiance is a direct reflection of the happiness you feel inside.
Every bride will have this moment. Embrace it and keep it close to your heart always. It’s so worth all the challenges, difficulties, and bumps you face while planning your wedding. I promise.

I love it!
I think it's crazy how much we both love George Winston and we both walked to his song. I remember getting chills when I heard the music start…suddenly it hits you "this is it!" So surreal! 🙂

Beautiful recap, and amazing photos. I remember when I got married (very faintly now, as that was almost 10 years ago) but I remember the look on my then-husband's face. No matter what took place down the road, that was still a good day. 🙂
