I had such high expectations of newlywed bliss that I forgot that this was a relationship. And relationships take work. And sometimes working on my relationship makes me want to hide under the covers and sleep until the spring.

I’m an intensely private person, despite my status as a blogger. If you’ve noticed, I keep most of my bitching and moaning pretty superficial. But today, I can’t help it. I’m disappointed. Today, having a husband does not make me want to sing from the rooftops, “Hello world! I’m in love!” It makes me want to say not-so-nice things that I won’t share for fear that you will never read my blog again.

All I can do right now is wait until the day is done, and hope that tomorrow brings something better.

No animals were hurt in the making of this rant.

Thanks for sharing Carly, I too am a very private person (despite having a blog) and I know how hard it was to open up and share with us. I know what you mean, most of the time my FI is awesome but there are times we are both stubborn and can't see eye to eye and it's very fusterating because you expect so much from that person & expect them to understand you but sometimes it's not realistic. I do the same thing and just think tomorrow this will be over & everything will be wonderful again & it always is :-). btw your last line about animals made me lol!

I know you aren't happy right now, but I want you to know I loved hearing this… and I'm sure some other brides may agree with me… So often you get so frustrated with your fiance/husband and you wonder? Everyone else must be so happy, what did I get myself into… and then you realize everyone has the fits and everyone will hit the bumps — it's just a matter of how you get through it. Thanks Carly!

Oh, girl, you are so not alone. We're having one of those evenings too and it can be kind of exhausting. Make that a lot exhausting. But ultimately that's why we married these guys…because we'd rather fight with them than be with anyone else. Or so I tell myself when the going gets tough. 😉 xoxo

Thanks for keeping it real without going overboard. So often Newlywed bloggers make marriage sound like it's perpetually wine and roses. It's not, but the upside is that things improve.
