When I feel overwhelmed, it becomes increasingly hard for me to get anything done. As a stay-at-home mom, even leaving the house can feel impossible. As part of what I am calling my “Winter 2016 SAHM Challenge” I am trying to get out of the house as much as possible. My FitBit tells me I could use the extra steps, and the fresh air is necessary to jolt me out of any current or potential funks! Most importantly, I know it benefits my daughter tremendously. Children seem to thrive outdoors!

I am basically posting this to stay accountable. We likely won’t be out and about every day. Some days I devote completely to cleaning/laundry/chores, and I know myself enough to know I need my down time, too. But, let the Winter 2016 SAHM Challenge begin!

MONDAY

Play time at our neighborhood park

TUESDAY

Mommy and daughter time at the LA Zoo!

Tomorrow is Wednesday and I have a doctor’s appointment. So we will be out of the house, but probably not having any outdoor fun. We’ll see how the rest of the week goes!

The other component to this challenge is that I plan to cook at home every week night. I’ve gotten lazy and relied on take out too much lately. I took photos of last night’s dinner and it looked less than appealing. Taking food photos is an art form and I am terrible at it. Let’s just say we had bun-less burgers topped with spinach and sweet potato puffs (bought in the frozen section of Whole Foods).

That is a good goal! I love being outside when it is warm and it will be a long winter here so I'm a bit jealous of your warm temps. My fitbit is hating me right now!
