My husband talks a lot in his sleep. Sometimes we have full-on conversations. Sometimes he speaks his own language (a.k.a. incoherent mumbling). I always delight in sharing our nightly musings with him the next day, because he rarely remembers any of it.
L’s sleep talking is rather new to our relationship. I would say it started in the last year or so? I like to think it is because he is finally 100% comfortable falling asleep with me after all of these years. We’ve slept together so many nights that we don’t fall asleep like we used to: wrapped up tightly in each other’s arms. We are more likely to kiss goodnight and retreat to our own side of the bed.
That’s why my heart melted last night when in the midst of a deep slumber, L reached over and held my hand. It only lasted a minute or two, but it was so endearing. Wow. I’m married to this man who talks mumbo-jumbo with me at 2 a.m. and holds my hand in his sleep.
Once again, I am reminded that it’s the little things.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Enjoy yourselves.

J talks in his sleep too and it is the funniest thing! One time he got really upset b/c his vegetables couldn't find parking and I was laughing at him 🙂

That is so sweet! I think the closest thing that my husband has done is wrap his arms around me and pull me closer in his sleep.

He does, however, talk in his sleep often and I can never understand him because it's always in Chinese (his native tongue)!

My ex was a martial artist. He would occasionally have nightmares about fighting off ninjas or something. The first time I got a back heel kick to the ankle, I learned to LEAP out of bed when his covers were rustling! lol

As for me, I've laughed so loud in my sleep, I woke me and the ex up!
