At the risk of sounding like a hovering mother, please read this CNN article about hospital mistakes. Read article here.

Hospital staff and doctors make mistakes all the time. Regardless of where the fault lies, better to be safe than sorry. Before my surgery, my mom urged me to talk to everyone that checked me before my operation, and re-iterate to them who I was and what surgery I was coming in for. I was like, “Mom, that’s ridiculous! These people are trained professionals.” But she got in my head, like parents often do, and I made sure to confirm with two different nurses that they knew which surgery I would be having that day, and who I was. While it is highly unlikely that they would mix anything up, I’m glad I asked. So anyway, this is a little off-topic from my usual posts, but necessary information for all. Happy Weekend!
