I woke up, the same as every other morning, next to Mr. G. Except the date was June 27, 2009, and something very important was about to go down. We were getting married.

For the most part, I was virtually useless on the morning of my wedding. I couldn’t be bothered with anything. I felt nervous, giddy, overwhelmed. Yet, I wasn’t feeling overly romantic, glowing, or bridal.

It was all good though. I didn’t have to be the sharpest tool in the shed; especially when I had an entourage of awesome people helping me, and basically putting me together. Without further ado, I’ll let the pictures tell the story of my wedding morning.

Black and white photos are the best friends of this makeup-less girl.

Some of you might think to pose or do something cute while in the make-up chair. All I did was talk, which made for attractive pictures like this.

I’ll throw some color in now, since my make-up was done by then. Here’s one of the adorable flower girls, Zoe.

After hair and makeup, I went into the bedroom, closed the door, and hid for awhile. I gave myself a little pep talk, gazed out the window, and tried to connect with my inner-bridalness. “Umm, hello inner-bride. You need to come out now. We have a wedding starting soon!”
While I was busy trying to relax, the bridal suite was bustling with activity.

At some point my brother popped in to get his boutonniere, or rather to flirt with the ladies.

I could hear everyone’s voices on the other side of the door. Yet, I was feeling numb and a bit lost. As time passed, my mom finally knocked (probably wondering if I was still alive in there).

I told her I needed help. I don’t quite remember what she told me. But it was something along the lines of, “Sweet daughter, it’s go time.” We exchanged a knowing look, and I reached for my dress.

Deep breath. Deep breath. “Ok, Mom…you can open the door…”

Happy tears. I was a bride. And it felt amazing. All photos courtesy of Toby Morris Photography

Oh Carly. You are so lovely. The veil is amazing, as is the dress. Can't wait for more.

Thanks so much, everyone!! These re-caps are a tad trickier than I thought they'd be. Gotta sift through hundreds of pictures, and put them together into a cohesive story. I'm gonna try my hardest to pump them out. We'll see how that works 🙂
