Awhile back, I wrote a post about how Mr. G selected my little brothers to be his best men. I was and still am so touched by their close relationship with one another. Mr. G really wanted to get them gifts of appreciation and love for taking part in our wedding, but he kept coming up short. Leave it up to my mom (of all people!) to come up with the perfect idea.

Last weekend, the three amigos truly became “brothers” when they got new identical tattoos!!

They each had a hand in determining the concept of the tattoo. It is a representation of the Borromean rings: three rings that cannot be separated. Removing any ring results in two unlinked rings. The Borromean rings have been used in different contexts throughout history to indicate strength in unity.

I was a bit skeptical of the whole process at first. But now that I’ve seen the end result, I have to say…they’re pretty gangsta.

Anyone else get inked as part of your wedding process?

    Your mum suggested that?? Wow!

I’m not really into tattoos but a friend and her hubby are and they got one done when they got married. They had the same symbol – she did hers on her wrist and him on his back. Looked awesome!!

Wow! That’s awesome! Getting something permanent on their body also reflects all of their commitment and investment in your marriage as well! What a great gesture.
