I’ve posted previously about the genius of Ben Chrisman, an award-winning photographer based in San Francisco. While stalking his blog the other day, I came across this and it got me a bit teary-eyed. (I tend to get ultra sensitive around the holidays…)

The picture helps me to remember what this is all about: the marriage of two people. When the wedding is all said and done, I have someone who will tell me I am beautiful without the white dress and with my make-up rubbed off. I have someone who will stand by my side when all the guests have gone home for the evening. And most importantly, I have someone who will twirl me in a parking lot long after our first dance is over. He will do this because he loves me above all. And I will do the same because I love him above all. Without a doubt, this picture tells an amazing story.

Aww I love that pic. I do sometimes forget that all this planning is for us to show everyone how much we really love each other. Thanks for that reminder, and thanks for the b-day shoutout!

I had a similar thought the other day. I was talking to my hairdresser about how I have started to work on beauty strategy for the big day. While I was talking it occurred to me that I want to look my best because of all the attention put on me as the bride. Not because I want to look my best for Isaac. He would marry me in a garbage bag with morning breath and bed head. Which of course is one of the hundreds of reasons why he is the one for me! 🙂

Gosh. Amazing photo and an equally fabulous dress! I agree with you…this one is very tender and sweet and loaded emotionally while being rather simple. So perfect.
