NancyKay’s Confections, a lovely cakeshop in Los Angeles, has our business and they don’t even know it! You’re probably wondering what the heck I’m talking about. Well, let me explain. When we were booking our venue, one of the reasons the hotel decided they’d win our business is by throwing the wedding cake into our catering package. Well, I took the bait…and one of our vendors got checked off the list without us having to lift a finger (just our checkbook!).

We had a number of bakery options to choose from, but I was most impressed by NancyKay. Here are a few options I found on NancyKay’s website that I find absolutely divine.

An Antique Cake: Simply adorable. It would go great with a vintage flair theme.

Spring Flowers Cake: I am obsessed with pretty flowers arranged on cakes. This is one of the prettiest I’ve seen.

Gold Cake: An ode to my desire to incorporate gold as a wedding color.

Peony Cake: Simple and lovely. Who doesn’t love peonies? Who doesn’t love cake? If your response is “Me!” then this isn’t the cake for you.

As you can see, I’m all over the road in terms of cake aesthetics. It isn’t one of my biggest concerns, but a cake done right can be such a nice accent to your reception. Which one of these cakes do you like the best? Do you have your cake design picked out yet?

Yummm …. if they only taste half as good as they look, you’ll be enjoying a feast! 🙂 And you’re right about the gold cake!

@heather: a gelato cart?! That sounds awesome!! I’d be interested to hear if it works (I hope it does!)

@krista: we have yet to go cake tasting, but I can’t say I’m not eager to go. They better taste good – it would defeat the purpose if they looked super pretty but didn’t taste yummy. We can’t have that! I will have to do some serious investigating into this matter. 🙂
