I enjoy cooking although I admit I’m not really good at it. One of my “go to” recipes for weekday dinners is tacos. I love that I can switch up my taco recipe with different veggies, protein, and salsa each time depending on what ingredients I have on hand.

I’m working with Kroger to share some simple tips and tricks for easy cooking and clean up with Brawny Tear-A-Square® Paper Towels. Tear-A-Square® Paper Towels offer three different size options (full sheet, half sheet, and quarter sheet) in one roll. I love that I’m not wasting a full paper towel when a quarter sheet will do the trick!

Tear-A-Square® gives you the strength of Brawny® with the flexibility to only use what you need. Here are some different ways they make it more convenient and less wasteful for me to cook and clean.

Keeps Greens Crisp

Awhile back, I was frustrated at the fact that I was constantly throwing out soggy greens. It felt like we never had the chance to finish them! I tried this simple tip to keep greens crisp longer and it worked!

I was preparing some lettuce for our tacos, so I washed the lettuce and patted it dry with a full sheet of Brawny Tear-A-Square®. You can really feel the difference in quality. They are so thick and absorbent! Then I wrapped the leftover lettuce with a dry paper towel, placed it in an airtight bag, and put it back in the refrigerator. My greens stay fresher longer – up to a week!

Oil Without the Mess

An easy way to keep your oil bottles (such as olive or avocado oil) from dripping and getting messy is to wrap a paper towel around them. For this quick DIY trick, I folded up a quarter sheet of Brawny Tear-A-Square®, wrapped it around the bottle, and secured it with a rubber band. It worked perfectly. No more slippery, messy bottles!

Easy Pan Clean-Up

This cleaning trick has considerably cut down the time I spend scrubbing and soaking dirty pans at the sink! I cooked some ground turkey for our taco dinner. Immediately after I was done plating the turkey and while the pan was still hot, I wet a quarter sheet (you can also use a half sheet and fold it in half) of Brawny® Tear-A-Square® and placed it in the hot pan. It should sizzle a little, so keep hands away and use tongs to move the paper towel around the pan.

All the grease and grime is easily removed from the pan! No scrubbing or soaking. Just give it a quick rinse and it’s ready for you to wash it or put it in the dishwasher.

Cleans the Microwave

I always use a paper towel and a vinegar/water mixture to clean up spills around the house. I’ve found the half and quarter sheet sizes work great for microwave clean up – especially all the splatters that sometimes happen. It’s amazing to know that I am producing less waste by using Brawny Tear-A-Square® in the exact size I need as opposed to always grabbing a full paper towel sheet.

I will need to give that pan cleaning trick a try, we love stir fries but I don’t like having to clean up afterwards, haha!

Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend 🙂 It’s been a quiet one for us, with the rain!

I also use paper towels for all of those except to keep the oil for dripping. Thanks for the idea.
