The weather has been gorgeous and rather warm for April. L and I decided to hit the beach, because he said he needed a tan. I certainly didn’t object to an afternoon in the sun!

My scars are still healing so I decided a swimsuit wasn’t a good idea. Instead, I opted for comfy and economical: a maxi dress from Target, and a light beachy H&M sweater. The sweater definitely wasn’t necessary, as it was hot out, but I wore it because it helped complete my messy, beach chic look.
I love maxi dresses for summer. You can dress them up or down, and they feel so good against your body. You have to be careful with the cut though, so as not to look like you’re wearing a tent. This Target dress is pretty shapeless, but I like it. I was nervous when I bought it online, because the only person who reviewed it said she loved wearing it throughout her pregnancy. LOL. Oh well! I plan to purchase a few more dresses for summer. One of my older ones is actually falling apart!

Today’s Outfit
Maxi Dress {Target}
Sweater {H&M}
Flip Flops {O’Neill}
Necklace {Madewell}

Will you wear a maxi dress this summer?

P.S. Happy Birthday to my love, L!

    You look fantastic– I love that color on you! And wasn't the weather great this weekend? I'm bummed that it's going to be colder this week.

    You would look fantastic in anything, silly girl. This brings up a good question, though. Are we supposed to be careful about getting sun on our scars while they're still healing? Two of mine look completely healed and two still look like they're healing.

    Loveeee that dress! Maxi dresses are definitely one of my all time favorite things to wear. They are so easy and breezy and I totally feel like a lady when I wear them…is that weird?

    I'm jealous of your beach time. Closest beach to me is almost 3.5 hours away. I need to move!

    You look gorgeous! I've tried on maxi dresses but can't seem to make them work for me. It makes me sad because they are SO comfy!
