I’ve gone silent for the past few days, because I am currently in the throes of a deep love affair with my…

NOOKColor!!

{source}

We eat together, sleep together, watch TV together. We’re in love.

L was actually listening to my incessant whining, and caved in to my ridiculous “need” to have a Nook. Good job, husband!

So yeah, my friend Sugar over at Modern Organic Living mentioned awhile back that we could be Nook friends and lend each other books. I’m just getting started, but if anyone wants to be Nook friends (including Sugar and Amber) I think that could be fun!

I don’t really know what I’m doing yet, but I already bought Something Blue from Emily Giffin. I read Something Borrowed years ago, loved it, and was reminded of Giffin’s books after seeing the movie trailer last week.

This past weekend, I tore through Something Blue, and I think I have set my sights on That Wife’s fave, In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto for my next read.

More book purchases coming soon.

And a nerd is re-born (me, of course).

    Oooh! I've been trying to decide between a NOok and Kindle for some time now. What made you decide to get the Nook over the Kindle? And why the Nook Color over the regular one? It's tough finding real people's thoughts on why they picked one over the other… 🙂

    I love my Kindle!! When I first got it, I think I read in every free moment I had … it was so easy!

    I just finished Something Blue last night – it is definitely a good read!

    I love, love, LOOOOOVE my Nook!!! I don't have the Nook color (it was released less than a month after I bought my Nook) but it's cool b/c after 8 hours a day staring at a computer screen my eyes need a break. The regular Nook is SO much easier on the eyes which was important to me. Wow- you're a fast reader! I wish I had more time to sit and read 🙁 I usually get bits and pieces in the car when hubby drives and on my lunch break. My only complaint with ebooks is that there are a lot of books not available in ebook format.

    @Josie: I wish I could be of more help, but I don't know much about the Kindle. I basically bugged my husband to get me the NookColor, and that's what he got me! Mostly, I thought it looked cool and I liked the colored screen. LOL! Good reasons, right? Now that I own one, I'm glad I made the choice that I did. The screen doesn't hurt my eyes, because I read books with the background blackened out. I do kinda miss actual books, but e-readers are quite convenient. Hope you found what you were looking for!
