source: Post Secret

My favorite place to find new blog treasures is my Google Reader’s recommendations. If it weren’t for their recs, I would have never found several of the blogs I read today.
One of those blogs is Post Secret.
I am probably five years late on the popularity train, but what can I say? Sometimes I can be rather un-cool when it comes to the internet. Anyhoo, Post Secret is an online project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on a postcard. They have compiled books of these postcards, and they post some of them on their blog.
I am totally intrigued with reading stranger’s secrets. Some secrets are silly, others are sad, some are life-changing, others are thought-provoking. I have both laughed and cried.
Got a couple of spare minutes? Check out Post Secret community and blog. Anyone else read Post Secret?

I do – totally addictive. Some of the cards are ridiculous, some funny, some so sad. I think the one that stuck with me the most was a card that said he survived 9/11, but let his family think he died. Not sure if it was true, but I've remembered it. There's also a video, not sure if it's still up about the cards from a couple years ago – it made me cry!

    I'm so lame.

I have been obsessed with Post Secret for years. I discovered it about 7-8 years ago in an art class and have been hooked every Sunday since. You should also hit up your local bookstore, there are tons of Post Secret books out there…I admit to having a few. ;0)

@GIOVANNA: I need to start following it on Twitter! Didn't even realize they had an account.
@Penny: If you are lame, then so am I. We can be lame together because I was totally crying over some of the cards.
@Brandi: It's addictive! Just a note -The only way I could view past posts was to subscribe through Google Reader. The actual blog doesn't appear to have a way to view old posts, which took me a few minutes to figure out.
@vhcarlson: I was already thinking of looking for the books next time I am at a bookstore! I can't believe I just discovered this project now. So happy I did.
